My first decent speakers were a pair of Magnapan MG-2s back in the mid 70's. I replaced them with the original Acoustat 'X' electrostatics, and have owned Acoustat speakers ever since.
I was introduced to great sound and the audiophile worId by Doug and Harry at the Audio Dimensions store in Birmingham, MI. Harry's still in business, selling Audio Research, Magnapan, and other high end lines.
My systems are usually composed of components that offer the best sound quality for the dollar, plus some DIY tweaking, and I'm very pleased with the sound I've achieved with my current system.
